EmpowerHer Initiative Kick Off
Just in time for Women‘s History Month, the U.S. Embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria are proud to announce the launch of the EmpowerHer Initiative!
Just in time for Women‘s History Month, the U.S. Embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria are proud to announce the launch of the EmpowerHer Initiative! The objective of this collaboration, which is being rolled out throughout Europe, is to promote women’s empowerment in the transatlantic business community and model the advantages of equal opportunity in commerce and trade.
When women are economically empowered, they re-invest in their families and communities, producing a multiplier effect that spurs economic growth and contributes to global peace and stability. Countries with a greater balance of men and women in the workforce enjoy greater economic growth and innovation and they are less likely to be involved in conflict. Global peace and prosperity are the tangible rewards of empowerment and equity.
EmpowerHer in Austria will kick off this year with two programs. The first is called ConnectUS and will establish a networking platform for AmCham member companies to nominate high-potential women and men from their own ranks to participate in a series of meetings on pressing topics relevant to women’s empowerment. In building new connections between both companies and individuals, participants will enable benchmarking, share best practices, and identify barriers that need broader attention. MentorUS is the name of the second program, a mentorship platform available to young female talents from AmCham member companies that will offer up to 10 mentee slots with C-level leaders from globally active U.S. companies.
The U.S. Embassy and the American Chamber of Commerce in Austria are committed to making a difference in promoting gender equality and equitable economic growth. We are excited to breathe life into this important transatlantic initiative and looking forward to putting another crack in the glass ceiling!
